Resources for Colossians 3.17-4.1

We had a great morning together as a College & 20s group yesterday.  Jon and Andrea Hoglund shared a bit about their ministry in Ukraine.  The picture to the left includes their children, Isaiah and Joy.  Following the update, Jon taught on Colossians 3.17-4.1.   He sent me links to a few things that he mentioned when he was teaching:

First, he helped us think through what Colossians 3:18-19 means: “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.  Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.”  He referenced a great essay by John Piper in which he defines and describes biblical manhood and womanhood.  You can read it here: Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

Second, Jon also described an essay by C.S. Lewis, titled, The Sermon and the Lunch, which you can download here.

Finally, you can keep up with the Hoglunds on facebook: “The Hoglunds in Ukraine.”

Update: You can now also download the audio of Jon’s message from Colossians 3.17-4.1, “God Centered Relationships in the Home”, on the right-hand side of this blog (or find it on the college & 20s website) with the rest of the audio.
