What is the Greatest Work of the Spirit?

Jack Miller, writing to a young missionary couple in 1984:

What I finally came to as I walked and prayed for you is the old, old story of getting the gospel clear in your own hearts and minds, making it clear to others, and doing it with only one motive – the glory of Christ.

Getting the glory of Christ before your eyes and keeping it there – is the greatest work of the Spirit I can imagine (The Heart of a Servant Leader, 22).

Probably not hyperbole. 2 Corinthians 3:18; 4:4, 6:

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit…

The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God…

God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
