At the heart of the Bible and the reason for it’s existence…

“Whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

“The whole Scripture principally aims at this; that we should not doubt, but that we should hope, and trust, and believe, that God is a merciful, bountiful, gracious, and patient God to his people” (Martin Luther).

“The Scriptures were written for our comfort, and so fitted to and for the workings of faith, therefore they were so written, as especially to bring down and lay before us the heart of God and of Christ; and so the main thing they hold forth is, the full intent and purpose of both God and of Christ to pardon and receive sinners” (Thomas Goodwin, Works 4:208).
